FBI'S MOST WANTED NIGERIAN FRAUDSTER ARRESTED IN AUSTRALIA.

A Nigerian born sophisticated con artist, Tobechi Onwuhara, who fled Florida in August 2008 amid an intense FBI investigation, has been caught in Sydney, Australia and sent back to the U.S. to face a string of fraud charges.

He was on the FBI’s most wanted list for several years for his alleged involvement in an elaborate scheme that defrauded the financial industry out of tens of millions of dollars.

According to a report published by CNN in 2011 while he was on the run, he was a criminal genius:

In America he became one of the world’s most successful cyberscammers, a criminal genius who used his talents to filet a poorly regulated banking and credit system. In less than three years Onwuhara stole a confirmed $44 million, according to the FBI, which believes the total may be anywhere from $80 million to $100 million. All he needed was an Internet connection and a cellphone.

RAPE NOW ATTRACTS LIFE IMPRISONMENT IN NIGERIA

The House of Representatives yesterday Tuesday March 5th approved life imprisonment for any person convicted of rape. They also approved a minimum of 20 years without an option of fine for persons convicted of gang raping someone.

The bill, which was sponsored by Hon Abike Dabiri-Erewa, also approved 25 years imprisonment for any person who attempted to use chemical, biological or any harmful liquid on another person. (e.g pouring acid on anyone).

The bill also approved 4 years in jail or a fine not more than N200,000 or both for any person convicted of performing female circumcision and general mutilation or engaging someone to carry it out. Aiding female circumcision attracts N100, 000 or two years in jail or both

KANO KILLINGS BY UNKNOWN TERRORISTS

Four persons were killed in drive-by shooting on Sunday by gunmen driving around on a tricycle in an area of Kano. The gunmen first struck at Dakata Bus Stop before moving to Dakata Kawaji area opposite a graveyard near the Custom’s barrack, where they shot two persons. One of the gunmen, it was learnt, carried an AK 47 assault rifle wearing a dark blue kaftan.

Security agencies were said to have arrived the scene about 10 minutes after the gunmen had fled to evacuate the victims.

 

Is this as a result of President Jonathan's amnesty denial to boko haram???

After Justin Bieber's London birthday bash was cut short over the weekend, the pop star has posted a message to his Instagram account, voicing his side of the story.

ARREST MADE IN DEATH OF USHER'S STEPSON.

Nearly eight months after the death of Usher’s stepson, 11-year-old Kile Glover, justice is finally being served. On Friday morning just after 7 a.m. ET, Jeffrey Simon Hubbard was arrested “without incident” at his mother and father’s home in Georgia and was “cooperative,” the arresting officer Sgt. Mike Burgamy, of Georgia’s Department of Natural Resources, tells omg!. Hubbard’s arrest comes just one day after a grand jury in Hall County, Georgia, indicted him on a slew of charges – including Homicide by Vessel, Serious Injury by Vessel, and Reckless Operation of a Vessel. In July 2012, Kile and another young girl were struck by a jet ski operated by Hubbard, a family friend of his father’s, as they rode in an inflatable raft. While the girl suffered minor injuries, Kile spent 10 days in a coma before he finally succumbed to his brain injuries on July 21.

Although Sgt. Burgamy would not go into detail of why Hubbard was charged, he did tell omg! the investigation into Kile’s death had been ongoing and once complete, evidence was brought before a grand jury, which indicted him on Thursday. Hubbard is currently being held without bail and is expected to appear before a judge this weekend. Kile’s mother, Usher’s ex-wife Tameka Raymond, has been fighting to make sure her son did not die in vain. On February 21, Raymond, who has two other sons with the “Numb” singer, was at the State Capitol to propose “Kile’s Law” to improve boat safety, which she documented on her Instagram page. “I won't stop,” she wrote that day. “Nope! My best friend and favorite person will never be forgotten #kileslaw.”

QUEEN ELIZABETH II WAS HOSPITALIZED ON SUNDAY

Queen Elizabeth II was hospitalized Sunday over an apparent stomach infection that has ailed her for days, a rare instance of ill health sidelining the long-reigning monarch. Elizabeth will have to cancel a visit to Rome and other engagements as she recovers, and outside experts said she may have to be rehydrated intravenously.
Buckingham Palace said the 86-year-old queen had experienced symptoms of gastroenteritis and was being examined at London's King Edward VII Hospital — the first time in a decade that Elizabeth has been hospitalized.
"As a precaution, all official engagements for this week will regrettably be either postponed or cancelled," the palace said in a statement. Elizabeth's two-day trip to Rome had been planned to start Wednesday. A spokeswoman said the trip may be "reinstated" at a later date.
The symptoms of gastroenteritis — vomiting and diarrhea — usually pass after one or two days, although they can be more severe in older or otherwise vulnerable people. Dehydration is a common complication.
The illness was first announced Friday, and Elizabeth had to cancel a visit Swansea, Wales, on Saturday to present leeks — a national symbol — to soldiers of the Royal Welsh Regiment in honor of Wales' national day, St. David's Day. She instead spent the day trying to recover at Windsor Castle, but appears to have had trouble kicking the bug.
A doctor not involved in the queen's treatment said that if medical officials determined that she is losing too much fluid, she would be rehydrated intravenously.
"Not everyone can keep up with oral hydration so it is pretty routine to go to hospital and have a drip and wait for the thing to pass and keep yourself hydrated," said Dr. Christopher Hawkey of the University of Nottingham's faculty of medicine and health sciences.
Britain's National Health Service says that the two most common causes of gastroenteritis in adults are food poisoning and the norovirus, a common winter vomiting bug which typically afflicts between 600,000 and 1 million Britons each year. British health guidelines advise that people with the norovirus avoid work for at least two days.
"It's very infectious and strikes in winter because people are indoors and it spreads more easily," Hawkey said.

KILLERS OF 15YRS OLD NIGERIAN BOY, JUNIOR, FOUND GUILTY.

 

The 14 year old girl who ordered the stabbing of 15 year old Nigerian boy, Junior Nkwelle, for being ‘disrespectful’ was found guilty of manslaughter yesterday March 1, 2013. Junior and his friends had been playing football near his home when an argument broke out. The teenage girl claimed Junior had insulted her during the argument. She then called her 16 year old boyfriend on the phone to a housing estate in Brixton and ordered him to ‘teach Junior a lesson’. The boyfriend thrust a carving knife once into Junior's chest, killing him. This happened in September 2012.The teenage girl and her boyfriend were cleared of murder by a jury yesterday, but they are facing long prison terms after being found guilty of manslaughter.Witnesses said they heard the girl boasting that she had arranged for someone to stab the teenager and she later went home to fetch a kitchen knife.When her boyfriend arrived on the scene, he was handed the blade and used it to stab Junior once, piercing his heart and lung.he youngster collapsed yards from his housing estate home in September last year and was pronounced dead an hour later. Prosecutor Jonathan Turner QC said the argument ‘was stupid and trivial and completely unnecessary’.

‘It was loud enough to be heard by neighbours,’ he added. ‘Words were said, voices were raised and threats were made.
‘She thought that Junior had insulted her or been less than respectful to her. She was very angry and determined that he should be punished – indeed stabbed – to put things right.
‘She called up her boyfriend and was heard to tell Junior that she had arranged for somebody to come and stab him.’
Mr Turner added: ‘He (the defendant) was encouraged and requested by her to come and do this. Indeed, to use an old-fashioned phrase, was set up by her to do this.’
The now 17-year-old killer, from Herne Hill, South London, claimed he was acting as a peacemaker and knifed Junior in self-defence.
Both he and the girl, from Brixton, were given anonymity during the trial. They can't be named because of legal reasons. They will be sentenced on April 5.

COURT FREES 7 OF THE ACCUSED PERSONS FOR ALUU KILLING

Seven out of the 18 people arrested and standing trial for the murder of the Aluu4 victims were yesterday discharged by a Port Harcourt Chief Magistrates' Court. Their reason? Not enough evidence to suggest they were involved in the killing.

Those discharged yesterday were: Chinwo Cynthia, George Nwadei, Ekpe Daniel, Gabriel Agburum, Finebone Jeffrey, Endurance Edet and Gabriel Ochie.

The remaining 11 accused persons, including the paramount ruler of Omuokiri-Aluu, will face trial for the murder of Tekena Elkanah, Toku Lloyd, Chiadika Biringa and Ugonna Obuzor.
